Tribute to the World of Music with CHILD PRODIGY

45 child artists from different parts of the world have collaborated online for Maati Baani’s Heal the World cover. To be released on Michael Jackson’s birth anniversary.

In March this year, home-grown band Maati Baani launched six songs that featured 50 musicians from 20 countries. What made it unusual was that the collaboration took place entirely through the internet. Now, the duo, Kartik Shah (36) and Nirali Kartik (32), is back with a new online collaboration — this time featuring 45 children from across the globe.

Homeschooling TO MIT

MIT has a long history of admitting homeschooled students, and these students are successful and vibrant members of our community.

Over the past decade, we have seen a surge in homeschooled applicants. Homeschooled applicants still make up less than 1% of our applicant pool (and less than 1% of our student body), but these numbers are growing.

“When God Created Mothers”

When the Good Lord was creating mothers, He was into His sixth day of “overtime” when the angel appeared and said. “You’re doing a lot of fiddling around on this one.”

Pressure-cooked kids By Anita Vachharajani

Amy Chua’s Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, which I reviewed for the DNA

some weeks back, is causing a sharp intake of breath among

educationists everywhere. The book is about her life as a hysterical

over-ambitious parent, and what disturbed me, personally, is that she

is not the only one out there.

Being Human: Kids must Volunteer

To my mind, volunteer work and homeschooling are made for each other. While it is possible to attend school AND volunteer, homeschoolers — who do not need to spend six to ten hours daily on classes and homework — clearly have more time for such endeavors.
